More on Old People who Stutter

More on Old People who Stutter StutterersTom is likely unconscious at this point, due to repetitive blows (i.e., head banging) against the wall.  Somewhat inexplicably, this qualitative / survey study got published w/ a whopping n of 11.  No external validity problems there!  And, as always, internal validity plagues qualitative survey-style “research” for any number of reasons.

I totally hope I never wind up being written about somewhere on the internet as an old person who stutters. 🙂

It’s my sense of humor… The term “Old people who stutter” is in the title of the article, and it just struck me as funny. (I posted about it a few days ago; this is kind of a re-tweet.)

What a useless report! The problems they have because of stuttering are the same as the problems younger people have. Some learned to work around the stuttering, and it became less of an obstacle. Some didn’t. Retiring changed their environment and social group. They’re worried their stuttering will affect how they’re treated as they age. Replace stuttering with any other disability, and you’d get the same result.
