Yet another (stuttering) Joe Biden article

Yet another (stuttering) Joe Biden article.  But I honestly wonder if this (scientifically uninfored) media attention will be a net positive for PWS?  As I’ve said (publicaly) before, it’s easy for my cynical and sarcastic nature to see how this will only add to the existing negative and unfounded prejudicial stereotype of “Stuttering is optional and it’s really just a character flaw for those who lack the will to do what it takes” mentality.  Time will tell, as will Joe Biden’s efforts to raise public awareness.  (Something that he’s not really done on a national level–take the American w/ Disabilities Act, for example…)

“Overcoming my stuttering taught me one of the most important lessons in my life—that if you put your mind to something, there’s nothing you can’t do.” Thank you Joe Biden, not helpful at all…
Even though he’s not a very good advocate at the moment, maybe the fact that everyone is writing about his stutter raises awareness non the less? Or no?

I honestly don’t know on this one… Only time will tell. Raising awareness may not be good, if it’s supporting a bad idea. Hitler raised awareness about a whole lotta things… Now, I’m obviously not trying to compare the two people; they don’t even belong in the same universe…but awareness for the sake of awareness may or may not be a positive.

    So–time will tell.

Oh no you didn’t?! Haha, you did!
    But, you’re forgiven.
We can only hope this will be the good kind.
